Why use a professional make-up artist?

A professionally trained makeup artist has been trained in all aspects of makeup and is able to design and choose a look that is based on your style, personality, face shape, eye shape, skin colour/texture, lighting conditions, venue and whether you're being photographed. Margaret holds a Diploma in Makeup Artisty which is the highest level attainable in Australia and also attends regular workshops to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and products available.

I prefer a natural look - will I look or feel overdone?

You are not alone, many women feel this way. Margaret takes care to listen to your wishes and design a look that's perfect for you as an individual.

Do you provide a hairstyling service?

Yes, Margaret can provide hairstyling. For groups of three or more, it is best to have a separate hairstylist; it's more time efficient because Margaret and the hairstylist can work on two people at the same time.

How long does a makeup application take?

We recommend allowing a minimum of 1 hour for makeup appointments. However, let us know before the booking of any time restraints and we can adjust.

What methods of payment do you accept?

Pragma Beauty accepts cash and Electronic Funds Transfer. Please contact us for more details.

Do you provide a mobile service?

Yes, Margaret provides a fully mobile service, however a travel surcharge will apply for some locations. Please contact us for a more detailed quote.

What makeup products do you use?

Margaret only uses cruelty free brands such as Hourglass, Chantecaille, Ellis Faas, Ilia, Laura Mercier, Westman Artieler Tatcha, Dr Dennis Gross and many more. Margaret chooses the best products from a variety of ranges and constantly updates her kit to reflect style trends and advancements in makeup and skincare technology.

Do I need to prepare for my trial?

The more information we have about you, the better! Collect pictures from magazines, Margaret loves to see your dress and jewellery; details of the flowers, the bridesmaid's dresses and a picture of how your hair is to be styled. All this provides us with a guide to your tastes and personal style.

How should I prepare my skin?

Leading up to your event, regular facials are ideal along with a good daily skincare routine. Have your waxing completed at least two days prior to your special occasion. The night before gently exfoliate your face and use a hydrating face mask. On the day ensure your face is freshly cleansed and moisturised. It's is also advised that your eyebrows are expertly shaped. Margaret will send through a

Will I need to touch up my makeup?

Your foundation and eye makeup is applied to ensure maximum wear, so it will last for hours without a touch up. If your skin is prone to oiliness, we recommend a powder compact or blotting papers. You will need to touch up your lipstick. It's a good idea to allocate one of your bridesmaids as 'makeup attendant'. She will check your makeup before the photos and keep an eye on you throughout the evening to ensure you look your best.

Pragma Beauty can also supply an optional 'touch-up' kit which may include essentials such as blotting paper, compact powder and lipstick. Alternatively we can make a list of products for you to purchase.

Should I have my hair or makeup completed first?

It's preferable to have your hair done first followed by makeup. If your hairstylist is present, our artists will liaise with them to determine the best outcome for you.

What hygiene processes do you have in place?

Pragma Beauty observes strict hygiene practices; using a hand sanitiser between clients. Her makeup brushes are sanitised between each client and thoroughly washed each day.

If your skin is sensitive, our artists use what is best for your skin's needs. If you are concerned and have known allergies you can discuss your specific needs with us over the phone or at the trial.

Do you offer gift certificates?

A gift certificate is a wonderful idea and most women love the idea of being pampered. Pragma Beauty is happy to arrange for a personalised gift certificate to be mailed out to you. Click below and send us a message.
